Ending Phentermine Treatment

After you stop taking Phentermine, your body may need time to adjust. The length of time this takes depends on the amount of medicine you were using and how long you used it. During this time, speak to your doctor if you notice any side effects (as noted above in Physical or Mental Dependence on Phentermine).

If you have been taking Phentermine in large doses or for a long period of time, do NOT stop taking it without first consulting your doctor. S/he may want you to gradually reduce the amount you are taking before stopping completely. This will help prevent withdrawal side effects.

Important Notes concerning Phentermine and Weight Loss

Phentermine should NOT be used as a substitute for proper diet or exercise. For maximum effects, it must be used in conjunction with a reduced-calorie diet and/or exercise.

Any modifications in your diet, activity level, and behavior must be developed and continued long-term in order to continue losing weight and prevent the lost weight from returning.

As Phentermine is similar chemically to amphetamines, taking Phentermine may cause a positive result in urine screening tests for amphetamines.

Do NOT share your Phentermine prescription with others.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information on Phentermine.
